最近、ワークスアプリケーションズに関するニュースがWebだけではなく
日経新聞の一面にも記載がありました。
私は中途社員（問題解決能力発掘プログラム、略称(問プロ)）として入社しました。
約5年ほど会計システムのエンジニアとして在籍していました。
入社した年からはもう10年以上経っています。
自分の人生に大きな影響を与えてくれた会社であることをツラツラと
思い出しながら、最後は応援という形で締めくくりたいと思います。
研修時代編・配属後時代編(いつ書くか未定)に分けて書いてみようと思います。
【研修時代編】
※かなり昔の話のため、今とは研修内容が大きく違う可能性があります。
そのあたりご注意下さい。
当時、パソコンをほぼ触ってきていない人間だったものの、ワークスの
案内を見ると「問題解決能力発掘プログラム」という未経験でも一流にする、
みたいなフレーズがなんか響いて、軽く申し込みをしてみました。
入社説明会では自信がみなぎっている人たちばかりで、私は受からないなあと
思っていたものの、筆記試験や面接試験を経て運良く合格できました。
最終的には40人弱ほどが突破。
半年の研修が終われば配属になります。
最初は半年も研修があってお給料もかなり頂けるなんて
ラッキー！て思っていました。
ただ、研修の試験で成績が悪いと正社員として登用されない、という言葉を
人事の方が言っていたのですが、
「そうはいってもよっぽど態度が悪いとかの場合でしょ？」
と軽く受け流していました。。。
さらに
「あなた達（問プロ生）は倍率数百倍を越えた人達です。それだけでも凄いです。」
みたいなセリフをワークスアプリケーションズの人事の方が言っていたので、
自分って凄いのかなーと勘違いし、自分に酔っていたのも良くなかったです。
そして、研修が始まると研修のヤバさを痛感することになります。
まず、お題が与えられて、それが合格となれば次のお題に進める研修でした。
お題は「理想の時計を考えなさい」という答えがない問題を自分なりに仮説立てて、
プログラミングで表現（実装）して試験官に提出をします。
そこでプロダクトの説明もワンセットで提出するのですが、
自分の考えが足りないと不合格となり差し戻しが発生します。
お題が合格しない人はずっとそのお題に取り組むことになります。
永久ループ状態になる人もいました。
また、自分の頭で考えて自分で解決することが求められるので、
研修中は他人との会話は禁止でした。
そして、毎月成績順位毎に席順が決まります。 順位がいい人が席前方に座ります。
席の後ろの方だと段々と居心地が悪くなってきます。
私はどうだったかというと、大苦戦していた方です。
そもそもパソコンすらきちんと触ってこなかった人間なので、
システムの環境設定やファイルとフォルダの違いがよくわかっておらず、
何をするにも周りより遅かったです。
（みんなが先にお題を取り組んでいるなか、自分ひとりだけPCの設定。。。
あれは辛かった。）
他にも
・PCの電源offにして帰るようにと言われて、電源ボタン長押し（強制終了）で
毎日帰っていた。
・Excelでテストデータを作るときにシーケンスナンバーを1個1個手打ちで作成。
（数秒で終わる作業に1時間ぐらいかけてテストデータを作成していた）
等々、本当に未経験だったんです。。。
みんなもエンジニア未経験だよね？っと思って安心していたのですが、
話を聞いてみると趣味でプログラミングしている人もいたり、大学で情報処理学部だった人もいました。（確かに職としては未経験だけども。。。）
必死で追いつくため、休日はパソコンの使い方を勉強したり、
確か北斗の拳だったのですがタイピングソフトを使って文字を
打つ練習をしていました。
アイデアだけの試験であれば中位ぐらいの位置にいたものの、
どうしてもプログラミングがよく理解できず（正確にはキャッチアップが周りより遅く）段々と後ろの順位になり、危機感を抱くようになりました。
最終試験受からないと社員として登用されないと言われたからです。
（今は違うと思います。雇用はされるはず？かな）
ただ、お題内容はとても面白かったです。
「理想の時計を考えなさい」みたいなお題に対して、
時計って何のためにあるんだっけ？なんであんな形しているんだっけ？
そもそも論から考えて、自分なりの理想の時計はこれだー！と考えるのは
楽しかったです。
また、同期のメンバーと仲が良ったのも良かったです。
順位を争うライバルだったものの、プライベートでは
一緒に飲んだり、友人家でワイワイできて楽しかったです。
個性的なメンバーも多く、刺激多い仲間に出会えたのは幸運でした。
例えば、
・開成⇒東大というエリートで自分の実力を試しにきた人。
・頭が良すぎて脳の研究対象となった京大生。
・確か車か不動産の営業トップだった人
・司法浪人だった人
・ベンチャーで働いていた人
等々。いろんなキャリアの人がいてたくさん話しができて楽しかったです。
研修は少しずつ後ろの席にいる人が特に多かったですが
出社しなくなる人が出てきました。
プレッシャーがきつくなるからです。
最終的には20名ちょっとぐらいの人が配属決まりました。
コンサルかエンジニアか確か選べたのですが、私はエンジニアの会社なんだから、
エンジニアにチャレンジしてみようと会計システムエンジニアとしてキャリアを
スタートすることに決めました。
ワークスアプリケーションズが謳う問題解決能力とは、
答えがない問題に対して、自分なりに仮説をもって考えて、
形まで（解決）もっていく力だと私は理解しています。
この考えは私の仕事観に大きな影響を与えてくれました。

I misunderstood that I was ugly, and it was not good that I was drunk by myself.
And, when the training starts, you will feel a sense of mischief in the training.
First of all, given a subject, it was training to advance to the next subject if it passed.
The subject is to hypothesize yourself a question that does not have the answer "Please think about the ideal clock",
Express (implement) by programming and submit to the examiner.
Therefore I will submit a description of the product in one set.
If your idea is not enough, you will be rejected and a refund will occur.
Those who do not pass the subject will always work on the subject.
Some people were in an endless loop.
In addition, you are required to think with your own head and solve it yourself.
Conversation with other people was prohibited during the training.
And the order of seats is decided every month for each grade. People who have good standing will sit in front of the seat.
The back of the seat makes me feel uncomfortable.
It was a hard time for me to say how I was.
As a human being who did not even touch the PC properly in the first place,
I do not understand the difference of system environment setting or file and folder well.
It was late than anything to do anything.
(Everyone working on the subject first, setting up your own PC.
That was hard. )
Other
・ It is told to turn off the power of the PC, and hold down the power button (forced termination)
I was back home everyday.
・ When creating test data with Excel, create sequence numbers one by one.
(It took about 1 hour to finish the work in a few seconds and created test data)
I was really inexperienced. . .
Everyone is new to engineers, right? I thought I was relieved, but
When I listened to the story, some people were programming with hobbies, and some were in the information processing department at university. (I'm sure inexperienced as a job ..)
In order to catch up desperately, I study how to use a PC on holidays,
Certainly it was a fist of the North Star, but using typing software
I was practicing to hit it.
If it was an examination only for ideas, it was in the middle position, but
I couldn't really understand programming (accurately, the catch-up is slower than my surroundings), and I was in a backward position gradually, and I felt a sense of crisis.
I was told that I would not be hired as an employee unless I received the final exam.
(I think it's different now. Should I be hired?)
However, the subject matter was very interesting.
For a subject like "think your dream watch",
What is the clock for? Why is it so shaped?
First of all, thinking from theory, this is your own ideal watch! Think of
it was fun.
In addition, it was good that I got along with the members of the same period.
Although it was a rival who competed for the order, in private
It was fun to drink together and enjoy at home with friends.
There were many unique members, and I was fortunate to be able to meet exciting people.
For example,
・ A person who has tried to test his ability in the elite named Kaisei 東 Todai.
-Kyoto University students who are too smart to study the brain.
・ The person who was the sales top of a certain car or real estate
・ A person who was a judicial roman
・ A person who worked at a venture
And so on. There were people from various careers and it was fun to talk a lot.
There were a lot of people who were in the back seat little by little in the training
Some people have stopped coming to work.
It is because the pressure is tight.
In the end, about 20 people were assigned.
I could choose a consultant or an engineer, but I am an engineer company.
Let's challenge the engineer and try a career as an accounting system engineer
I decided to start.
The problem-solving ability that Works Applications calls for is
For a question with no answer, think with your own hypotheses,
I understand that it is the power to take form (solve).
This idea had a great influence on my view of work.
